“Nobody would want the real me.”

“If people really knew me, they’d reject me.”

When your voice says:

“If people really knew me, they’d reject me.”

“I have to keep the real me hidden.”

Coach Lynn says:

That is a prediction shaped by shame. It is not evidence that every person would reject your honest, imperfect self.

Then you say:

Here’s what I need to do:

  • Take one or more Composure Breaths to settle my body.
  • Name the prediction: “I am afraid I will be rejected.”
  • Choose one trusted person.
  • Share one manageable, authentic detail rather than the entire story at once.

Coach Lynn says:

Connection grows when you let yourself be known in small, safe ways. When you share one honest piece of yourself, fear gives way to belonging and your relationships become more real.
