How we curate Daily Composure

Everything you read here starts as research. Here’s why we do it, who chooses what you see, and how we make sure it holds up.

Why

Why Daily Composure exists

It started with one question: How do you get your mind to work for you instead of against you when the pressure is on? The answers are scattered across coaching books, neuroscience, and clinical research, and most people don’t have the hours to sort through them. We do that reading, and turn what holds up into tools you can use in the moment.

Who

Who curates Daily Composure

Editorial Director Ron Obston

Ron leads our editorial work. He chooses what we cover, evaluates the research behind it, and shapes every tip and Field Note.

Founder & Head Coach Coach Lynn

Carolyn Wabrek, MEd, MFT, MPH. A mental conditioning coach and early adopter of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she reviews everything against decades of CBT practice. Nothing reaches you until she approves it.

What

What we publish

Practical tools for the moment the voice in your head gets loud, drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, performance psychology, and the science of how stress works in the body.

  • TipsShort, usable answers to the voices that hold people back.
  • Field NotesA weekly deeper look at the science, with one skill to practice.
  • Breathing drillsSimple ways to settle your body so your head can catch up.

How

How we make sure it holds up

  1. We go to the original research, not the headline or press release about it.
  2. We check what it really shows: who was studied, what was tested, and whether other work agrees.
  3. We match our words to the evidence. “Research shows” means strong evidence; “may help” means early evidence.
  4. Coach Lynn reviews every piece to make sure it’s accurate, useful, and safe before it’s published.

AI

How we use AI

AI tools help a two-person team cover far more research than we could alone. They help us find new studies, compare what different fields say, organize what we’ve read, and shape first drafts.

They also have real limits. AI can’t judge whether research is true, and it can confidently cite studies that don’t exist. So we hold firm rules:

  • A person reads every source we cite. If we can’t open it and confirm it, it doesn’t go in.
  • AI never adds facts. Drafts may use only claims we’ve already checked.
  • People make every call. Ron decides what’s published and how it’s worded; Coach Lynn reviews every piece before it reaches you.
  • Your messages stay with us. We don’t put readers’ emails or comments into AI tools.

Spot an error? Email us at editor@dailycomposure.com or reply to any Field Notes email. When we change a fact, we note the correction at the end of the post.

Daily Composure is education, not therapy, crisis care, or medical care. If you’re in crisis or thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US), or contact your local emergency services.
