“If they see this, they’ll know I’m not good enough.”
“Sharing my work will expose every flaw I have.”
When your voice says:
“Sharing my work will expose every flaw I have.”
“One imperfect draft, email, or idea will tell them everything about me.”
Coach Lynn says:
That is mind-reading. You are treating a feared reaction as though it is already a fact.
Then you say:
Here’s what I need to do:
- Take one or more Composure Breaths to settle my body.
- Say: “I do not know how they will respond.”
- Separate what I fear from what I actually know.
- Share a version that is appropriate for the real audience and purpose.
Coach Lynn says:
A prediction isn’t proof. When you let go of old fears and feel safe in the present, you can speak honestly and build real trust and connection.
