“If it isn’t perfect, it’s no good”
“Nothing I make is ready for anyone else to see.”
When your voice says:
“Nothing I make is ready for anyone else to see.”
“It has to be completely right, finished, polished, and perfect before I let it out.”
Coach Lynn says:
Sharing your work and mastering your craft are different things. You do not need full mastery before you share a draft, submit a proposal, send an email, or let someone see what you’re making.
Then you say:
Here’s what I need to do:
- Take one or more Composure Breaths to settle my body.
- Ask: “Is this fit for its purpose right now?”
- If the answer is yes, send it, show it, submit it, or publish it.
- Do not reopen it unless new information genuinely requires a change.
Coach Lynn says:
Your work can only build mastery once it’s out the door. When you share what’s fit for its purpose, feedback replaces fear and every draft makes you better at your craft.
