“What if I missed something?”

“I should look one more time, just in case.”

When your voice says:

“I should look one more time, just in case.”

“I still don’t feel sure, so I must have missed something.”

Coach Lynn says:

The feeling of doubt may remain even after you have done a reasonable review. More checking does not always create more safety.

Then you say:

Here’s what I need to do:

  • Take one or more Composure Breaths to settle my body.
  • Before I look again, decide what a reasonable review includes, such as: "Read it through once and check the names, dates, and numbers."
  • Set my limit in advance: "One full review, then I'm done."
  • When I reach that limit, stop, even if the doubt is still there. Say: "I've done enough. The feeling will pass."

Coach Lynn says:

Enough checking is a decision, not a feeling. When you trust a reasonable review and stop there, doubt gets quieter and you move forward with confidence and composure.
