“It is too much.”
“This whole project is overwhelming.”
When your voice says:
“This whole project is overwhelming.”
“It’s so big that starting feels pointless.”
Coach Lynn says:
This sense of burden typically arises when you mentally carry the entire project before taking even one clear, tangible step.
Then you say:
Here’s what I need to do:
- Settle my body by taking one or more Composure Breaths.
- Ask: “What is the next physical action?”
- Make it concrete: open the document, find the phone number, put the item on the counter, or write one sentence.
- Do only that action.
Coach Lynn says:
Taking on the entire project at once isn’t necessary. Focusing solely on the immediate step is enough. By narrowing your focus to a single concrete step, anxiety fades away and steady effort transforms into genuine momentum.
