“I’ll do it when I feel like it.”

“I’ll start when I feel motivated.”

When your voice says:

“I’ll start when I feel motivated.”

“I’m not ready, interested, or energized enough to begin.”

Coach Lynn says:

Motivation often follows action. Beginning changes the task from something you’re dreading into something you’re doing.

Then you say:

Here’s what I need to do:

  • Take one or more Composure Breaths to settle my body.
  • Set a timer for five or ten minutes.
  • Begin the smallest useful part of the task.
  • Decide what to do next only after the timer ends.

Coach Lynn says:

You don’t have to feel ready. You just have to take one small step. Each little win builds momentum, and that momentum leads to unstoppable results.
